Marlee Dann is a professional boxing coach and talent scout based in Plymouth, England, with more than 17 years in the corner. Marlee started coaching in 2009 and opened Intense Boxing in 2011, where they still train their fighters.
Marlee holds England Boxing Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications and gained a professional licence with the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) in 2019, going on to turn over their first professionals, including Constantin Ursu and Lewis Everson.
Ursu, “The Moldovan Monster”, went from small-hall shows to British and Commonwealth welterweight champion and headlined on DAZN, still unbeaten at 16-0. Marlee also brought Mozambique's Paris 2024 Olympian Tiago Muxanga to Plymouth and has guided him to the Commonwealth Silver and IBO All-Africa super-welterweight titles in the opening stage of his career.
Marlee spots talent other people miss and builds it properly. Exigo Sports called them “the Moneyball of boxing”. Camps have taken Marlee's team from Plymouth to Essex, Dubai and Bangkok, and their fighters have boxed at York Hall, The O2 and Vaillant Live.
“I have a coaching style that adapts to all styles. I teach the individual what suits them best, not what worked for me or for a particular boxer. My boxing intelligence and my meticulous planning and preparation are what separate me from the others.”
“I study every boxer I take on, and I study every opponent they face.”
Marlee Dann
Orthodox or southpaw, boxer or pressure fighter, pro or amateur: the coaching adapts to the fighter, not the other way round.
Each fighter is taught what suits them best, not what worked for Marlee or for another boxer.
Distance, ring positioning, range and shot selection. Reading what an opponent will do before they do it. “Skills pays bills but the basics never fails.”
Marlee studies every fighter they take on and every opponent that fighter faces. Each camp is planned around what will hurt that opponent, then drilled until it's automatic on fight night.
“Constantin got his range and timed the shot perfectly. The left was exactly what we believed would hurt him. We have been saying that James would turn to southpaw and then walk on to the back hand.”

The other Konuk twin. Won the IBF Asia super-lightweight title on the same night his brother won his.

Joined the team at 15 in May 2026. Went to the 2026 European Championships with just 7 amateur bouts. Beat last year's silver medallist by unanimous decision, then a former gold medallist from Poland on a 4-2 split, before going out in the quarter-finals to a former gold medallist from Russia with 80-plus bouts.
Fight night, Dec 2024. Before the fight, Marlee sent Ursu's manager, Johnny Clark, the game plan: how Ursu would win, why, and the reasons behind it. The stoppage came exactly as predicted. Johnny's photo from that night was his response.
Then I came up to Intense ABC and Marlee turned a new leaf with me and I was 12-0 before I lost my first fight.
